Personal Assistance – Small Business Assistance

  • How do I get started? Give us a call or send an email today. We will discuss your needs and assign the right assistant to work with you.
  • How do you charge for services and how do I pay for services? Clients are charged hourly unless a fixed project fee has been established. We charge a one hour minimum and then every quarter hour thereafter for services rendered. Invoices come from The Second You via Square and you can pay online with a credit card, by cash in person, or by check in the mail. Invoices are due upon receipt and additional fees will be assessed for invoices not paid within 30 days.
  • Do you charge mileage? The first ten miles are included in our standard rates. Thereafter, you are charged $.75/mile.
  • How do I pay for items I need purchased? Each Second You assistant has a company credit card for charges up to $250. Items purchased on the company credit card will be charged an additional 3% fee. Ideally, clients provide a credit card or prepaid Visa card to our staff to use for purchases. Contracts are signed for security purposes.
  • Do you provide cleaning services? The Second You will tidy your home including doing dishes, laundry, changing beds, taking out trash, simple sweeping, and picking up toys. We DO NOT provide deep cleaning services like scrubbing toilets or floors, vacuuming, or dusting.
  • Do you do yard work, handy work, or babysitting? We DO NOT provide these services, but are happy to refer you to our network of service providers.
  • I have a seemingly random request, can you help? We like to say yes to as many tasks as we feel we can successfully and safely accomplish. If you have an unusual request, feel free to ask and we’ll let you know if we can assist.

Pet Sitting

  • How do overnight stays work? Our insured pet sitters will come into your house and stay overnight to care for your animals. Our overnight stay timing is scheduled from 6:30pm – 6:30am.
  • I have two dogs, a cat, and a parrot and would like an overnight stay. How much will that cost? Our charge for the first dog is $35, the second dog is $10, the cat is $5, and the parrot is $5 for a total of $55 for the stay.
  • I work long hours. Can you visit my dog during the day? Yes! We are happy to do midday visits while you are at work or on vacation and the standard charge for a short visit for dogs is $20. We have additional pricing for longer visits or extended walks, available upon request. Midday visits take place sometime between 11:30am and 1:30pm unless otherwise requested.
  • I worry about my elderly dog while I’m away. Rest assured. Our sitters send photos and updates while you are away and we have protocols in place in the event of an emergency.

Event Assistance

  • I’m looking for someone to help with our corporate event. What services do you provide? The Second You likes to focus on day of event assistance. We enjoy being the extra hands and problem solvers on the day of a busy event. If you require more in depth event production, long term planning, and committee planning, we have great referrals to other full service providers.
  • Do you assist with set up for a wedding? We like to assist couples on their big day by doing whatever is needed including setting up decor, breaking down chairs, meeting vendors, directing divorced parents to the correct seats, managing gift tables, post event clean up, and lots of other day of event coordination tasks.
  • I’m looking for a great venue for my birthday party. Can you help? We can! We charge $40/hour for event research and will provide a list of available venues that meet your criteria.
  • The event I booked with you got cancelled. How will I be charged? A 50% deposit for estimated services is due upon the signing of an engagement agreement. If you cancel at least one week before the event, you will only be charged the deposit or for the time already spent. If you cancel inside the one week period, you will be charged the deposit and 1/2 of the remaining estimate. If more hours were worked than originally estimated, you will be charged for services already rendered.
  • Can you clean up after our event? Yes! We are happy to provide post event clean up. Hourly charges apply and if excess cleaning is required, additional fees may be added.
